While driving home, the local news station mentioned controversy about this new movie that portrays Detroit in a violent light.

There is a fanTAStic grocery store only a 10-15 minute walk away. This place has good fruits and veggies, a gigantic cheese counter, great coffee selection, tasty food for if you just want to grab something for lunch* and tons of variety while still having all the staples. It's also very veggie friendly, which is really nice.

I stop at a starbucks on the way to work to get a latte (grande pumpkin spice soy latte no whip, to check my pretentiousness level) and the second I finish saying what I want, I realize I forgot my wallet at home.

Now that I'm out of first level tech support, I really hate meetings. I didn't love them before, but at least it gave me time away from the damn ringing phone. Now that I'm second level and I have ticket closing goals to reach each day, meetings take away from my time I can actually be useful.

Things I've learned about driving here:

- contrary to what I've always heard, people do use turn signals.

- most roads don't have reflective tape/paint in their lane markers. This makes it difficult to find your lane at night or when there's tons of salt on the road.

We arrived in Boston yesterday with only an hour delay because of the snow. There were plans to go to First Night (New Year's Eve event) but it was outdoors and below 10 degrees with wind. We decided to stay at Rachel's family's house for homemade eggnog and snackies.

I went to the gym today and did weights. I didn't max out on anything ( though how much strength I lost is maddening) but did enough to be sore tomorrow.

I figure I have to get back into working out. 10 hour days make it hard to workout before or after work. It's back to working out on my lunch break.
